WHAT IS GOOD VALUE MOM ALL ABOUT
In a sea of sponsored bloggers, it’s hard to find trustworthy opinions on mom and baby products! I write content about items and services I have personally used. I pay for all my own things and do not accept free stuff in exchange for reviews. I’m just trying be a real person with real opinions and to have an outlet for all my unsolicited advice.
WHAT KIND OF CONSUMER AM I?
I call myself the Good Value Mom because I mindfully spend my money on things that I consider a good value. I strive to strike the best balance between cost and practicality. I don’t strongly favor one particular direction when it comes to lux vs cheap, new age vs old school, and all the other consumer/parenting styles you can think of. I’ve always had the mentality of being resourceful and going cheap where I can get away with it but will splurge on something that makes my life appreciably easier compared to its alternatives. I try to be as sustainable as is feasible for my lifestyle, but I also buy disposable stuff because I don’t want to hate my life cleaning every single object I use in a day. I try to support local vendors where I can, but if I need 10 of something for a fraction of the price, I’m going to buy it on Amazon. I try to be minimal in the sense that I buy just enough to get the job done, and I’ll wait until I need something before I buy it. I have more recently taken an interest in the materials that my products are made of and am open to spending a little more on products that have been deemed safer if it is comparatively as convenient as its competitors.
WHO AM I?
I choose to be anonymous because I want this blog to focus on the content, and I’m not one for attention. Part of my persona has always been in my mystère. Certain aspects of my life certainly drive some of my purchasing decisions, though, so if it helps for perspective: I’m in my mid-30’s, married, had a baby in late 2021, worked part time from home during my daughter’s first year, went back to an office a couple days a week shortly after she turned 1, and live in a cozy 2/2 bungalow in a metropolitan area where in the winter you’ll be bundled up in your heaviest coat and Uggs on Christmas Eve but sporting shorts and a t-shirt on Christmas day. Good Value Mom is something I do on the side for fun.
